This is why you should read the stickies...I feel stupid.
So I bought prop and nightfall. I made 6 classes to try out each of them in prop and nightfall. 3 on each campaign which I deleted since I wanted to stick with 1 main. I would make a class, get my ass kicked 4 to 6 times in pre searing because i was level 2 or 3. I totally forgot about you getting henchies in fightfall early on and such as having koss. I feel stupid since now I can make a monk as my main, have koss and other henchies fight while I just heal them. I didnt know you can get henchies and I forgot about koss being given early in nf...
So to my question, having picked a monk as a main, does NF have a early group healing spell? Not just single target but something I can just sit back, heal entire group at once? I remember paragon had a chant that heals with their next spells for entire people in your group, just wondering if monk had the same spell type.

Here is the wiki link for Heal Party http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Heal_Party
As you can see, it is only given early in Prophecies. In Nightfall, it is not available until Command Post (Hero Skill Trainer) or Grand Court (Mirror of Lyss)
There doesn't seem to be anything else available for monks.

I'm going to have to agree with 'jiggles' on the Heal Party.
That should help you.

Monks do have a bit more utility than just healing. True, party survival usually falls on the monks shoulders but there are a few more ways to do it than just straight up healing them. Protection prayers are a good way to mitigate damage or avoid it all together. I would look into some hybrid builds available on PvX wiki.
On the topic of group healing, we just had a major overhaul of skills yesterday, one of them being [healing burst] (the guru description isn't updated, it's now target ally is healed for 5...130 and all allies in the area are healed for 5...20 with a 4 sec recharge). I haven't had a chance to give it much of a workout but it looks promising. Also the sunspear skill [seed of life] is nice to have if one target is under particularly heave fire.

Monks Rule
When adventuring, what's the one class everyone wants in their party? Monk's that's who.
I have EoTN and mainly go around with a Ursan/Nuker build (Mo/E) and let my heros heal, etc. (Triple Necro Sabway). There are many good builds you can take without any monk skills. Obviously if you do this alot you may not want to be a Monk.
It's also fun to do solo farming as a monk, though many other classes can now solo farm as well. Monks were the original 55 HP farmers.

A 55hp farmer refers to having [protective spirit], a strong regen skill like [healing breeze]sometimes used with [mending], and usually something like [balthazar's spirit] and/or [essence bond] to maintain energy, and of course 55hp (5 superior runes and a -50hp grim cesta obtained in cities of ascalon quest).
By maintaining prot spirit constantly (usually with a weapon containing a 20% longer enchant mod but not necessary) you reduce damage to 10% of 55hp which rounded off means no more than 5 damage at all times. Healing breeze heals this almost instantly and viola.
Figured I would just answer your question instead of the typical "search is your friend" response

@OP - one solution is to start a character, either a monk or x/mo and keep them until you do the Sowing Seeds quest in post-searing. That will unlock Heal Party for your account.
You can then acquire Heal Party on a Nightfall monk by using a monk tome.

If you're actually dying in Pre-searing, something else is wrong that has nothing to do with your character class. I would recommend taking a look at tutorials and whatnot before diving in again.
